AI for Consultants: Replace the Second-Opinion Call with a Six-Model Debate
AI for consultants: use a multi-model debate to pressure-test recommendations before the client meeting. Here's the workflow and where it beats a single chatbot.
The most expensive minute in consulting is the one where a partner says "did anyone pressure-test this?" and no one has. The value of a good consultant isn't the deck — it's the argument the deck survived. A multi-model debate is the fastest way to run that argument before the client meeting.
The workflow
- Draft the recommendation. One paragraph. The call, the reasoning, the tradeoff.
- Feed it to a six-model debate as a stress test. Not "is this right?" — "attack this." Ask each model to argue the counter position.
- Read the dissent. Any argument that surprises you is an argument the client will make. Fix the deck for it now, not in the room.
- Keep the synthesis in the appendix. "We considered these counter-arguments and here's why we still recommend X" is the slide that closes.
Where it beats a single chatbot
A single chatbot will tell you your recommendation is great. It's trained to be helpful. Six models arguing will surface the parts of your logic that don't hold up, because arguing is the job.
Where it doesn't replace you
Client relationships. Judgment about what to actually say in the room. The intuition that told you which recommendation to draft in the first place. Debate AI catches the arguments you missed; it doesn't have the arguments for you.
